Better Branch Labs

We build small, private software for the ordinary problems in a household.

Better Branch Labs is an independent software studio based in the United States. We work on a short list of things at a time and keep them simple enough to explain in a paragraph. We do not sell advertising, we do not sell data, and our apps carry no analytics or tracking of any kind.

Kitchen

Private beta

Kitchen keeps track of the food already in your fridge. You add a dish when you put it away — by typing a few words, or by tapping the home screen widget — and Kitchen works out roughly how long it keeps, using published food-safety guidance rather than a guess. It shows you what to eat first, tells you when something is near the end of its useful life, and lets everyone in a household see the same list.

It is deliberately narrow. There are no recipes, no shopping lists, no calorie counting, and no feed. It answers one question: what is in there, and what should we eat tonight?

Kitchen is in private beta and is not yet on the App Store. It is being tested through Apple TestFlight by a small group of households, and we are not taking general sign-ups yet. If you would like to hear when it opens up, send us a note at the address below.
